IS RITALIN THE ANSWER?
Are you aware that the US consumes approximately
85% of the world's supply of methylphenidate (Ritalin)? The US Drug Enforcement Administration
(DEA) has determined that financial ties between Ciba-Geigy, the
maker of Ritalin and CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorders) exist
to the tune of $2 million dollars a year. The DEA reported that
they may "be putting profit margins ahead of child
safety". More than 1 and one half million American
children take Ritalin regularly. In light of this information, people
are asking: Is this a miracle drug, or are we simply over medicating our
children?
The following articles will document the paradigm
shift taking place in society today away from drugs and surgery.
towards Chiropractic and natural health care. Many contemporary parents are taking a new
approach. They are turning to their family chiropractor for answers. Rather than hoping a drug will mask the
symptoms of an illness, the Doctor of Chiropractic is looking to the cause of
"dis-ease" in the body.
The chiropractor looks to the function of the
nervous system for answers. Housed in the spinal column, this
intricate array of wiring dictates all functions of the body through messages sent from the brain.
Interference in this system, termed Vertical Subluxation (spinal nerve interference) can alter the normal
function of the body. Through careful analysis, your family
chiropractor can locate and gently correct any areas of subluxation in your child s
growing spine.
During the past century, Chiropractic has become the
largest drug free profession in the world. The Isenburg study shows that one third of all
parents now bring their children to non-medical doctors, primarily
Chiropractors. If you are like many parents, you too are dissatisfied with the
medical treatment and drug therapy your child has been offered. Taking this new
approach can lead you in the direction towards health, vitality and
wellness.
If your child or someone you know has ADHD, consider Chiropractic Care.
You'll be glad you did!
